Each participating school has been given two of the challenges below to complete before the end of Lent. Click on the challenges to find out more information, and to see photos once they have been completed.
Why 23 challenges? Yes, we know that there are 40 days in Lent but there are only 23 school days! We hope that our children will be so inspired that they will also carry out acts of generosity in their own time.

GIVING, RATHER THAN GIVING UP

ABOUT
WHAT IS THE LENT EVENT?
The Lent Event has been set up by the East Coast Religious Education network (E.C.R.E) to help schools teach children about the period of Lent. The Lent Event is based on the 40 ACTS Stewardship project and has been adapted for collaborative use in schools.
Many schools encourage their children to give something up each year for Lent. This often starts with great enthusiasm but soon dwindles and is forgotten about. This year we are encouraging our schools to add something transformational to the traditional. During the coming weeks our schools will teaching their children that Lent is a time for preparation. Preparation for a lifetime of big-heartedness that reflects God's generosity.
